With over 35 years of experience in industrial and academic practice of petroleum engineering, Dr. Ali Ghalambor is duly recognized to be a frontrunner in the oil and gas sector. He obtained both his bachelor’s (1974) and master’s (1975) degrees in petroleum engineering from the University of Louisiana. Afterwards, he pursued a Ph.D. with specialization on environmental sciences and engineering at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he graduated in 1980.
From then on, he has assumed important engineering and supervisory positions in various companies and has provided consultation services to over 50 petroleum production and service companies, government agencies, and international organizations. During his stint in these organizations and companies, he was responsible in the drilling, completion, and production processes that aim to solve well control and well integrity issues.
Apart from his outstanding contributions to the industry as a practitioner, Dr. Ghalambor is also noted for authoring and publishing several books that are now deemed to be indispensable materials in petroleum engineering education. As a matter of fact, the textbook he co-authored titled “Natural Gas Engineering Book” is now on its second edition, affirming its popularity among aspiring petroleum engineers all over the world.
